Think Small - Go Big Dinner
The Child Advocacy Center hosted its first Benefit Dinner in the spring of 2006. This special evening is the CAC's largest fundraising effort each year. It is built around the Dr. John P. Ferguson Award for Child Advocacy which is awarded to a group or individual who has demonstrated a true passion for helping and/or advocating for abused children.
The dinner is traditionally held in late May or early June and raises funds through sponsorships and table and ticket sales. For more information or to support this wonderful event, call Linda, 831-2327.

High Stakes Chili Casino Night
This new event, planned and organized by Sertoma Clubs and area children’s charities, is a lead-in to Sertoma Club’s long-running and highly-successful Sertoma Chili Cook-off weekend in February. With a different flavor and audience, High Stakes Chili is a lively blend of good food, Texas Hold’em, casino games, a silent auction and fun! The CAC is responsible for acquiring both sponsorships and silent auction items for High Stakes Chili.
Burgers & Cheers
Originally created by Leadership Springfield Class XXIII as “Burgers & Beer,” this event has been adopted by the CAC's Young Advocates Council. After selling out its first year (2011), the committee unanimously voted to make it an annual event. Held in April and next door to the CAC at Ebbetts Field, Burgers & Cheers featured live music, raffles, a silent auction, good food, fun and tours of the CAC. Interested sponsors and donors of silent auction items are encourage to call Linda at the CAC, 831-2327.
Voice for a Child 5K
The second Voice for a Child 5K and Family Fun Run took place In West Plains in May, benefiting the South Central Child Advocacy Center. Despite unseasonably frigid temperatures, more than 100 runners showed up to tackle the challenging course, along with dozens of wonderful volunteers, ensuring a well-run and organized event. Their reward was delicious Casey's breakfast pizza and fresh fruit from Ramey's. Post-race activities included tours of the SC CAC and children's activities, thanks to Learning Tree Preschool. Save May 3, 2014 for next year's run!
The Child Advocacy Center began conducting an annual campaign in the summer of 2008. Designed to coordinate with "National Fly a Kite Day" in June, the direct-mail effort is designed to raise critical operating funds for of the CAC. Donations are accepted year-round for each campaign.
