Think Small - Go Big Dinner

The Child Advocacy Center hosted its first Benefit Dinner in the spring of 2006. This special evening is the CAC's largest fundraising effort each year. It is built around the Dr. John P. Ferguson Award for Child Advocacy which is awarded to a group or individual who has demonstrated a true passion for helping and/or advocating for abused children.

The dinner is traditionally held in late May or early June and raises funds through sponsorships and table and ticket sales. For more information or to support this wonderful event, call Linda, 831-2327.

Burgers & Cheers

Originally created by Leadership Springfield Class XXIII as “Burgers & Beer,” this event has been adopted by the CAC's Young Advocates Council. After selling out its first year (2011), the committee unanimously voted to make it an annual event. Held in April and next door to the CAC at Ebbetts Field, Burgers & Cheers featured live music, raffles, a silent auction, good food, fun and tours of the CAC. Interested sponsors and donors of silent auction items are encouraged to call Linda or Kathy, 831-2327.

Voice for a Child 5K

This annual 5K in West Plains was our first fundraiser to support the South Central Child Advocacy Center. Held in May each year, the event continues to grow with amazing engagement from West Plains and its surrounding communities. The route begins and ends in the SC CAC neighborhood, helping build awareness for our center and the services it provides to south central Missouri.

2014 is the inaugural year for this brand-new event, held in collaboration with Nixa Parks and Recreation. KiteFest is a family- and child-oriented event that features kite-flying demonstrations, kite activities and a Kids Parade of Kites. All funds raised support services to Christian County children.

Diva Dash

After helping host a most successful Springfield Diva Dash in 2013 (despite snow, ice and frigid temperatures) the Kansas City Running Company awarded the Child Advocacy Center its 2014 Diva Dash. Scheduled for Aug. 23, this 5K and “Little Princess” event features a plethora of pink and purple tutus, tights of every shade and pattern, boas, tiaras and mile-wide smiles on every participants’ face! With a course that goes right by the Child Advocacy Center, the Diva Dash is bringing awareness of our center to a new level!

Celebrity Waiter Dinner

This new fundraiser gives us two events in West Plains to support the South Central Child Advocacy Center. The Celebrity Waiter Dinner kicks off its first year in the unique “Sole Café at the Shoe Factory Lofts.” Featuring south central Missouri “celebrities” as event waiters, a silent auction and fun surprises, this new dinner promises to complement the fundraising success of the Voice for a Child 5K and become an annual event for our center.
