Benefit Dinner

The Child Advocacy Center hosted its first Benefit Dinner in the spring of 2006. This special evening is the CAC's largest fundraising effort each year. It is built around the Dr. John P. Ferguson Award for Child Advocacy which is awarded to a group or individual who has demonstrated a true passion for helping and/or advocating for abused children.

The dinner is traditionally held in late May or early June and raises funds through sponsorships and table and ticket sales. For more information or to support this wonderful event, call Linda, 831-2327.

With a different flavor and audience, High Stakes Chili is a blend of casino games, chefs competition, silent auction and fun! The CAC is responsible for acquiring both sponsorships and silent auction items for High Stakes Chili.

Burgers & Cheers

Originally created by Leadership Springfield Class XXIII as “Burgers & Beer,” this event has been adopted by the CAC’s Young Advocates Council. After selling out its first year (2011), the committee unanimously voted to make it an annual event. Held in April and next door to the CAC at Ebbetts Field, Burgers & Cheers featured live music, raffles, a silent auction, good food, fun and tours of the CAC. Interested sponsors and donors of silent auction items are encourage to call Linda at the CAC, 831-2327.

Guns vs. Guards

Springfield Police Detective Al Estrada created this event in 2010 to support the services of the CAC. Co-sponsored by Queen City Sertoma Club, the Federal Medical Center and Springfield Police Officers Association, this multi-faceted event was an instant success. In 2011, the GvG Gala will feature a golf tournament, Tip-off Party and competitive basketball game between the Guns (Springfield Police Officers) and the Guards (Federal Medical Center). Sponsors and silent auction items are needed.
